Get to know BIA President Bill Rothman
|
As we welcome springtime and warmer weather, we also greet our new president of the Building Industry Association of the Red River Valley, Bill Rothman, chief financial officer of Kilbourne Group.
Hailing from California, Bill was born in Oakland but grew up in San Rafael. When it came time to think about college and his future, Bill said, “I thought I would get a law degree and go into international law, but I decided in my freshman year at UC Davis that I didn’t want to go to law school.”

Parade of Homes early registration due March 4
|
The Spring Parade of Homes will be the first two weekends in May, plus Mondays: May 4-6 and 11-13. Hours are noon - 5 p.m. Saturday-Sunday and 3-7 p.m. Monday.
Don't forget: the Parade of Homes now includes newly constructed homes, remodeling projects and rental properties.
- March 4 - Early Entry Deadline
- March 14 - Regular Entry Deadline
- March 15 - Advertising Space Reservation (Magazine and Map)

The RRV Home & Garden Show is almost here: Feb. 23-25 at the Fargodome. Check out all the new features including NDSU Inspired Spaces and The Lights presented by West Fargo Events - plus acoustic music Friday and Saturday nights and a "Meet the Dogs" event 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Saturday.
Friday features a buy-one-get-one-free admission special available for purchase at the Fargodome (no online sales).
Back again are crowd favorites Hebron Brick's Beer Garden and the Spring Market!

Feb. 23-25 Red River Valley Home & Garden Show 2024 The Red River Valley Home & Garden Show is the premier regional show displaying hundreds of home renovation pros, builders, cabinetry experts, landscapers, interior designers and home furnishers. This year's features include NDSU Inspired Spaces and kids'/family activities at The Lights recreated inside the Fargodome. Friday BOGO special. Adult cost $8. Children age 17 and under free.

March 19: Power Limited Technician & Electrical Contractor Education This informative class will look at several code questions that may be asked when taking a typical electrical exam for a Power Limited Technician license. The theory behind the questions will also be addressed. The questions will come from throughout the NEC and not any certain article. Member cost is $195.
Virtual and in-person attendance available.

March 27: Safety Session - Trenching & Excavating Learn about types of excavations, soil types and classifications, protection systems needed, safety requirements, and the duties of a competent person.
Cost is $20 and includes a light breakfast. In-person and virtual attendance available. A recording will be available for purchase

March 27: Building Industry Connect - Our Future Workforce Join us for the first Building Industry Connect of 2024! Featured guests include Tracy Becker, North Dakota CTE and Dr. Denise Jonas, Cass County Career and Technical Education Virtual Center, discussing workforce efforts in our region and across the state as well as ways we can partner. Cost is $25 and includes lunch.
