Building Science, Insulation, and Hot and Cold Roofs - 2.5 credits
Moorhead Codes Discussion - 1.5 credits
Worker Classification - 2 credits
Planning Projects with Engineered Roof and Floor Trusses - 1 credit
Start the day with your energy-guru peers giving you a short building science overview and handing you the keys to unlock excellence in insulation, addressing hot and cold roofs plus much more. Then hear a local codes update from Moorhead Building Official Mike Moss nailing down the facts on decks, fire-resistant construction, foundation blocking, local permitting and contractor licensing.
After lunch, local legal experts from ABST Law address employment classification including independent contractors v. employees and exempt v. nonexempt employees. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, they will outline licensing requirements in Minnesota and the importance of agreements encompassing employees and subcontractors.
To finish out the day, tap into planning your building project with engineered roof and floor trusses. Learn how to best and most efficiently accommodate HVAC systems, heavy kitchen islands/countertops and snow loading.
