Building community through giving

Remodelers Council and Professional Women in Building Council turn events into meaningful support for local organizations.

Giving back is at the heart of the Building Industry Association of the Red River Valley, and two council events in 2026 provided opportunities to turn fun gatherings into meaningful support for local organizations.

Recently, donations of hygiene products, housing necessities and pantry items were dropped off at Youthworks, after being collected from members at the Remodelers Council Picnic. These everyday essentials can make a significant difference for youth and young adults who are navigating challenging circumstances and working toward greater stability and independence.

The donation reflects the Remodelers Council’s continued commitment to supporting organizations that make a difference in the lives of people throughout the Red River Valley. By coming together as an industry, BIA members are able to provide practical resources while strengthening the communities where they live and work.

In April, the Professional Women in Building (PWB) Council turned their event into an opportunity to give back. Donated items from the Purses, Pints & Power Tools Bingo event in April helped support Jeremiah Program, an organization dedicated to helping single mothers and their children build better futures through education, career support, housing and community.

PWB council members collected and donated purses, some filled with hygiene products and other essentials, creating care packages designed to provide both practical support and a personal reminder that the community is behind the women and families Jeremiah Program serves.

Together, these donations demonstrate how BIA councils can leverage their events to create an impact that reaches far beyond a single day. Whether it is a bag of hygiene products, a household essential or a pantry staple, every contribution represents members coming together to support their neighbors.

Through the generosity of BIA members and the leadership of councils like Remodelers and PWBC, the building industry continues to build stronger communities and brighter futures.
